Intern Researcher

An intern researcher is a researcher who receives short-term research training at a research institute for the purpose of gaining practical experience in the field or developing practical skills in their area of specialization, in accordance with government policies and projects.

Intern Researcher Qualification Criteria

  • - Candidates who have obtained their final degree (Bachelor's or Master's) or are expected to obtain their degree within 3 months of the date of appointment at KIST.
  • - Individuals who have no work experience after obtaining their degree, or have less than 6 months of total work experience as of the date of appointment.
  • ※ Periods of employment as a student researcher (such as at UST) with a labor contract will be excluded when calculating work experience (internship applications are possible).
  • - If holding a nationality other than Korean, the candidate must have, or be eligible to obtain, an E-3 visa (employment contract is signed after issuance of the E-3 visa).

Intern Researcher Regular Recruitment

  • - Hiring Period: 8 times a year / Announcements are made in January, February, March, May, July, August, September, and November
  • ※ Job announcements will be posted on the KIST website.
  • - Duration of Employment: Up to 9 months (for project-based positions, up to 22 months)
